| These are some images I created for the Grateful Dead in a co-licensing deal. The images were used for sticker designs. They were manufactured and distributed through Net Sales. The Dead have worked with a long and distinguished line of artists and designers through the years which gave me a ton of inspiration. I was honored by the opportunity to work with the band on this project. The lizard design deals with the band's work with preserving Rain Forest habitats. The image with the balloons reflects the spirit of the late sixties in San Francisco with Owsley's Bear on the balloon and the classic Skeleton with the roses. I tried to capture the organic high technology of the band with the third design. I use this character I call 3b1 or cybershroom often. It is a cyber related image where there is a fusing of organic and electronic. You can see the various antena and metal conduits growing with the organic mushroom with three heads. The Bear, The Skeleton and the Rose, three major images the band has used through the years. |
